Homeless Care Packages

1st UNITE Cares Initiative

A First Time Homebuyer Seminar

As a means to jumpstart our #UNITECares initiative that focuses on building a stronger community, our members decided to build care packages to donate to those in need. We were specific to address the homeless population during this winter.

We agreed that sleeping bags, hugiene items, personal care products to protect them from Covid-19 and non perishables were items that needed to be included. Various members came together and donated what they could to make this happen. The members who donated were:

Jasmine Faulk, Sieiara Courmon, Demetria Alexander-Grissett, Carol Richardson, Rashida Roberts, Whitney D Lee, Lavonda McKoy McLaughlin, Janea Thomas & Sephra McNeil.

These ladies went out of their way to ensure the needs of the homeless were met. One of our members was almost in labor ensuring that the items were delivered before the birth of her daughter. There is no doubt that I am able to work with some of the most compassionate, selfless individuals in this organization.

I am excited to see what the future holds for the #UNITECares portion of this organizaiton. Philanthropy was not orignally a personal goal of mine but after working with such driven individuals and seeing the difference something so small makes in the lives of others, I can definitely see this happening more frequently.

I also want to send a special shout out to Frank J Smith for helping me shop for the items, stuff the bags and helping me locate and deliver the items to the people in need.

I am a firm believer of team work makes the dream work and I couldn’t have done any of this alone. Thank you all. Peace & Joy.
